The Americana Music & Art Festival in Florence, Colorado is getting bigger and better by the moment recently adding Colorado favorites – and rapidly gaining national attention – Ft. Collin’s unique You Me & Apollo. “Indie Folk for the masses” proclaimed The DENVER POST! The band is poised for a big time breakout with their Spring 2013 release simply titled ‘The EP ‘ and SCENE MAGAZINE bestowed a 4 and 1\2 Star rating on You Me & Apollo’s latest effort. Executive Producer, Charlette Henager, remarked that “the Festival continues to attract another one of the cutting edge acts on the forefront of the Americana genre.” You Me & Apollo will be joining nationally renowned The Greencards on a growing roster of talented performers that will grace the stage in Florence August 23 thru 25.
The Americana Music & Art Festival in Florence, Colorado is proud to announce that national touring act The Greencards will be performing at the event this summer. The talented musicians are veterans of such famous festivals as Merlefest and Lollapolooza as well as the Opening Act for Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson. The band will be showcasing tunes from their new release The Brick Album and treating the audience to an energetic live performance. The Americana Music & Art Festival August 23 through August 25 will feature over twenty musical acts playing on two different stages in addition to gifted artisans displaying their creations for sale. The Festival will be held in shade tree covered Pioneer Park, setting the scene for a delightful weekend of music, art, food, and fun. All genres of music will be featured such as Bluegrass, Folk, Jazz, Indie-Rock, and the ubiquitous Americana. “Florence will see an influx of people of all ages flocking to the event and this will be a star-studded addition to regional tourism” declared Executive Producer Henager.
The Florence Americana Music and Art Festival will be entering its second year of operation after a resounding reception by the Southern Colorado Region in 2012 showcasing 28 bands and 20 visual artists while raising $5,000 for regional charities. 2013 plans project substantial growth in attendance and production values as well as relocation to a more “crowd friendly” shade tree outdoor environment in Florence, Colorado’s Pioneer Park. August 23, 24, & 25 will be a lively fun-filled weekend chock full of memorable performances and talented artisans.
The Americana Music and Art Festival will feature a vast array of musical genres including renowned Folk, Blues, Bluegrass, and Indie performers from around the United States. The festival is a grass roots event produced by Frog Dawg Productions that not only focuses on bringing quality entertainment to Florence, CO but is designed to increase economic stimulation through tourism, raise community awareness for local non-profit groups and become the showcase event for Southern Colorado.
